Earlier in the year I started a new build. A Strike Models Vittorio Veneto. I have the sub-deck and non removable decks forward and aft glued in. The exception is that the port aft sub-deck needs to be glued in. Hope to do that later this week.
Pictures are posted on the Treaty Yahoo site.

I have always thought about building one of these cool looking ships.
But I could never find the time to work it in to my build schedule.
I remember Joe V's years ago.

Nikki, why don't you look it up on the Strike website? The shiplist will also have the particulars regarding "how big she is".
    Cheers,
    Chase

She is pretty big, it was the second ship I made, sold it to a high school shop teacher 2 years ago up in New Jersey, with my Atlanta. He was pretty eager to get started, but I don't think he has got involved after all.

Bobo, she will be a really nice boat when finished, but she was rough on my back.

Not real cold out today so I took the VV hull out in the back yard and got all of the port rib holes drilled. I may try and tackle the starboard side later today. Just depends on what I get in to. I may go out and do some climbs on the bike.

Build a cart and you don't have to lift it.

I think Carl Camurati made a superstructure for one of the Nabs guys. Anybody have the conning towere with bridge and the funnels?

My favorite ship, set the sterns up with an elevate and you can hit as close as 4 inches from the stern. Number of captains passed too close thinking they were safe :)
As long as you fight her like a super cruiser, you will be fine.

Yes Curt, I have all the superstructure plugs from Joe Villar and my build back in 1987.
Some of the molds need to redone because of rips and pulls, but the plugs
are intact. I have to mold a replacement super this year for my own Littorio,
so that will hapen this year some time.

That's great. Reason I am asking looks like the ROMA will be leaving me after 10 years. The owner will finally be taking it back home where it belongs but I wish I could keep it but hey I can build my own. The only thing that would put me off is the main superstructure. I may and mostl likely will end up getting a VV from Strike seeing as it's one of my most favorite models. I will miss Roma. Let me know when you have a Super Ready. I'm in no hurry but I like to know that a super structure would be available. Post any pics of it when you have yours done. Tks
    :)

Taking a break from the cutting of windows today. Working on mounting guns in "C" turret. Using my old Amend Interrupter guns in the stern. The Amend Interrupter uses 1/4" bearings in place of the piston and spring. As long as there is gravity they work. Nice not having to deal with springs and a piston.
