    Hey. I'm out of East TN, and want to get into the hobby, i just don't know of any clubs close enough. I am only 14, so my resources are limited.

    check out MABG.org

    It is a BIG Gun club.
    Most of their meets are located in Virginia.
    It would take over a two hours for you to drive to one of their meets.

    2 hours aren't too bad of a drive. Most of us do that already.

    yeah but when you consider he'll have to have a parent drive him, distance becomes an issue.

    that is when you get the parent involved with the club as well.
    That makes it a "Family" outing and they get to bond...
    I can picture it now, the son yelling out, "Take that Dad!" as he peppers his father's hull!

    By the way,
    I have my younger son building the superstructure for the ORP Dragon. My daughter is looking forward sailing a ship at the next meet, and my wife will be cooking lunch on the grill!
