West System, from West Marine. Sure, it's like a hundred bucks for a gallon, but per mL that's WAAAAY cheaper than buying tubes of anything at Lowe's/Home Despot. And, it's actually waterproof.

It also comes in quart sizes. I have West System 205 in my garage for the build sessions each month so just show up to one of those. We rotate through that stock as the hardener can go bad if you don't use it.

Built a couple of kayaks using their stuff. Worked great and cheaper than West Systems. Very helpful support also.

Tanks, boats, kayaks.. is there anything you don't build, Steve?

The Raka people seem to have more options (chemical characteristics-wise) than West, I'll have to try it after I run out of West, just for giggles.

I built some bookends in 7th grade shop class. 8th grade project was a 9' sailing dingy.

    Awesome thanks for the help.

@MWC13 - it will likely be a bit before I can actually get out to a build session, I think the next one is in my finals and then the next two months will be spent studying for the Bar. Hopefully after that I will be able to put more time in and make it out to them.

I use Tap Plastics marine-grade epoxy. It actually works better than West Systems when you've got a large pour to do, as the West Systems overheats and cracks, bubbles, etc. while the Tap Plastics doesn't. If you're just brushing on a waterproofing layer, though, either one works fine.

West won't crack, up to at least 1/4" thick. If you're pouring straight epoxy in deeper than that, there are other things to use besides epoxy :)

I touse the West systems epoxy. Love the premeasured pumps. Have had great luck with it. Also my wife likes it as well, low odor.

If your just waterproofing wood a couple of coats of Titebond II works as well as epoxy and is cheap.
