    I know this may be common place for ya'll but I am very new in this hobby and have NO knowledge in RC. I am trying to learn all I can about RC so I have a better understanding on how it all works. I see lots of post with lot of abbreviations and have no idea what they stand for. Such as ESC??? Maybe there should be a page of all the abbreviations that are used in this hobby and what they stand for. Thanks for the info.

    ESC= Electronic Speed Control.

    A solid state device for regulating motor speed.

    A guide to abbreviations is a good idea, we'll get one up. Don't feel bad for asking what may be simple questions. Everyone had to ask what an ESC was at some point :)

    This is the device that will take the commands from your radio's reciever & translate it into commands that your motor will understand.

    Basically, if "you" were the radio, the the esc would be the gas pedal.
