Just got my Anatomy of the Warship Yamato in the mail. Can't wait until the ship kit arrives from Battler's Connection.

Anyone know where I can get the brass (or other material) collar that will fit the shaft for a 950 Johnson motor? I think they are 9mm?
    Thanks,

DJranier, I'll try to find some pics for you of Suzuya.
I got to take a look at the Yamato kit and must say that I am very happy. I posted a review of the kit in the Product Review section.
I will document the build on this thread and on a thread on our Yahoo Treaty Site.
As I said in my post in the Product Review, If you have any questions about the kit feel free to ask. It's all about the exchange of information that may help someone.
    Thanks for the interest.
Let's battle, for the fun of it.

I will try to get some pictures posted of the Yamato this week. Spent the weekend trying to determine if I am going to install waterproof box in the bow or in the stern area behind the motors.
    Thanks,

I started molding AA guns tonight. Shapped wooden dowels and sealed them.

I took my Anatomy of the Warship Yamato book to work today and scaled the radar. Hope to transfer the drawings to wood and start getting the master together for that.

Excellent Bob. Do you know the type of RADAR fitted to the Yamato? I am curious if it shared a common system with the Tone.

Type 21 was the first radar installed in 43. Type 22 was installed in 44. Type 13 air search radar was also installed in 44.

The collars for the dogbones that with couple the large Johnson motors to the shafts have been ordered and should arrive early next week. Once I figure out how to post pictures I will do so on this thread.
