Since moving our website and spending my extra time updating it, I have been remiss in posting any updates here to the forum. My apologies!

PMWC has two new ponds at our disposal. One is larger and always clean and great for 1/72 Cruiser battles. The other is a bit smaller, but has an abundance of shade, viewing decks and a great launching channel. We will be having our second event at the Harris Lane pond (the smaller one) this coming weekend of May 27th.

Great battle! Really great getting back out and slinging some shot. Hopefully the couple new folks that came out and played get the itch to build boats of their own. Some more lessons learned for the old Shigure, but nothing in the boat broke and we shot some allied ships. It was a good day. Could use a couple more knots of speed, but what you gonna do right? Looking forward to next year!

Each team had 4 convoy vessels, with the game having no time limit in order to sink the opposing teams entire convoy. For this one the allies came out victorious! Several years ago my oldest daughter was the manager of a local bank in Auburn California. One day she was talking to a girl that had worked for the same bank for many years, but never crossed the subject of their fathers and some of the things they did. My daughter mentioned that her father fought R/C warships, and the girls reply was that...
Because of wind and nasty heat, we only played three sorties, but we sure did have fun in the process. There were no sinks, with only a couple ships coming close. If you take fast gun, big gun and 1/72 and scratch build them they would all cost about the same ($400 for a complete 1/72 2 gun destroyer) except the Big Gun would not need a co2 system for the single shot boats saving about $100, but if you use kits the cost will be about double for the 1/144 boats (no kits for 1/72) but for people who cant build its a kit or buy a boat ready to go. The club was very active until 2002 when the club went on hiatus for several years. 10 years later in 2013, three former members (myself included) decided to give it a try again. To help jumpstart the effort we started contacting many former members to see if we could buy their ships. The answer was always "NO, then I would have nothing to play with".
