      ....... there was a spider. I had no other choice but to burn it down.

      I guess that's one way to say good bye to an old boat!!

      That's the Model Warship Combat version of the USS Iowa turret explosion on April 19, 1989. Well, the exaggerated version at least.
    • NickMyers
      I don't remember the whole story behind it, but in case anyone believes the ship itself is on fire - it isn't.

      This gives you a good idea of what the Bismarck looked like before getting sunk.

      hay, leave me bimsarck alone :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

      @Beaver the bismarck was not sunk, it was scuttled
    • Beaver
      @Sveillon
      If you want to be particular, she was scuttled. But scuttling is a whole lot more cowardly than getting sunk. :)

      I just happened to be watching a show on it while I was reading that so I thought I would say something. Just FYI "Armageddon WW2" is a damn good documentary on Netflix.
    • Beaver
      Ah, didn't realize you were correcting me, thought you were trying to make some point. My apologies. :)
      You came to the boat battle last weekend, right?
    • Sveillon
      yes I did. Me, my son, and a buddy.
    • Sveillon
      George and myself just ordered two Baltimore kits.

      Looking forward to the build logs. ;)

      if you want to be pedantic, and I apparently do, the Bis was 'sunk' either way, regardless of the cause, be it German scuttling or British attack.
    • Beaver
      @NickMyers I was going to state something to that sort, but figured it's better to just let some things go...

      If you're hanging off a cliff, yes. Other things, not so much. :)

      I just thought it was funny that as soon as I saw that on TV I read it on here, I really don't know much about Navy history.

      @Sveillon if you want to read about a proper scuttle, check out the scuttling of the Imperial German fleet

      What an awesome pic. It would have been totally cooler if your ship had a flame thrower installed on it! Maybe that's the next idea to add to our baby. Does anyone know if a flame thrower can be added without blowing your self out of the water? Maybe a single flame application? Just cooking up ideas as we go. Rob
    • NickMyers
      @Rob3869
      Absolutely NO on the flamethrower.
    • __Titan__
      Um... I don’t think the ship is on fire but rather the water behind it
    • NASAAN101
      @Beaver
      The scuttling only speed up the sinking..
