Ok year is 1988. The only motorized models I had were a Lindberg Tirpitz and a Hood. No RC control. They sank every time I put them in the water.(I did not know that you had to fill the shaft alley with grease. The pic shows me recovering a Airfix Tirpitz built by Paul March. The model was sailing on it's own around the duck pond when it was rammed , rolled over and sunk by Paul's RC 3 ft long Blue Devil Destroyer. That was my first combat. I knew I had to get my revenge. Which I eventually did several years later 1995 when I visited Paul with my Bismarck and fought his Scharnhorst. Sharnhorst was sunk in the other Duck Pond in the same park. I was an extreme rookie at this. Paul provided the technical know how and explainations of how all this stuff worked. I was only into building static models. The rest as they say is History.
