I knew Swammpy had the Arizona hull. I just think an Arkansas hull could be interesting for fast gun.

Indeed. Not much more displacement than a destroyer. Looks cool though.

Swampy hasn't sold his business yet, just shut it down. He did not reply to an email asking how much he wanted, and someone who has talked to him about it said he wanted an utterly rediculous sum of money for it, so...

As far as my policy of not doing hulls that other people have done... he hasn't been in business for a couple of years now. I have plans for several ships that were on his list, and I will serve the needs of the hobby. He served the hobby long and well, and for that I thank him, but I have to consider the members of the hobby first.

As for the Arkansas, I think Nate Graham of the IRCWCC was making a mold, but I am not positive.

Then we need an Agincourt to go with it. Why have 6 turrets when you can have 7!

Cage masts my friend. Agincourt doesn't have the cool looking cage masts!

Cage masts are cool. The USN ones anyway. The Russian ones were too spindly.

I have a source for shipyard plans of the Omaha CL. I have good plans for Yubari, but as Mike said, in 1/144 it's sooo tiny.

I hope to find some good source material on US cage masts when I'm working on the Connecticut in 1/96. I figure that once I get it diagrammed, I can make a jig for brazing/soldering up cage masts.

I'm still pretty zoned from the painkillers, but I get to quit taking them today. Lord, I hate having my head fuzzy. Once I've got my head on straight, I'll put up a list for voting. I'm putting the names already listed by you guys on it ('cept the ones already in production by someone else), and some from the 1/96 choices.

I have a book some where that has a method for making cage masts with the proper curves. I will have to see if I can find it.

I'd be up for an Alaska hull if anyone made one. If not that I'm considering a Lexington, before it was converted to a carrier. I saw some pics on the WWCC and i fell in love with it. I have a thing for unusual USN ships.

I think someone is actually working on an Alaska hull. Not sure who, but I think it was someone on these forums, so hopefully they'll pipe up :) The Alaskas were among the most beautiful ships ever made.

Long lean and lethal looking. Nice companion for an Iowa.

Warren Gardner from my Big Gun club has cast a few Alaska hulls from a form that he made. They turned out pretty nice. I haven't seen him in over a year though.

Nope, wish I did. I don't recall ever seeing any either.
