Who wants some 1 pic is new valve next to a smart parts valve Bonus is these valves are aluminum and weigh 2ozs nice big knob, 1/8" npt for those who want to install anti syphon Retail is looking to be $30.00 I could swing $26.00 for pre-order only.
An anti syphon reduces chance of liquid co2 going to your regulator. liquid is bad in all single stage regs kinda makes hoses go pop. Most bottles do not have them. In the later years of BC being a smart parts dealer they started having them installed on the valves they were big and bulky. They can be made very simply with a J tube on the inlet side of the valve For parts yes we plan to have all there is only 2 main metal parts to it, the main body and valve body. 5 pieces of orings and a retainer clip super easy to do
you don't happen to have any of the seal parts kits for the old smart parts valves do you? problem with an anti-siphon if you use the J tube is you have to make sure you're reinstalling your bottle into your ship with the correct orientation, and given how i've seen some people approach co2 systems.... well, easier to go no anti-siphon and teach them to at least have the bottle angled valve-up...
oh i like... almost enough to make me regret having a few of the aluminum bodied smartparts valves out in the garage...
I get it... so I must not have one.. hence the mantra 'mount your bottle with the regulator higher than the bottle.. to keep out liquid'.. I am interested in these as well.
The threaded stem that threads into your bottles neck. At the end of this area it has an 1/8" NPT female thread so you can add a anti syphon like the picture Steve posted showing the "J" tube.
One thing that is nice is the BC 3oz tank. Filled weight is 13ozs. with the standard brass valve it was over a pound
It has not been posted yet. As it can take about a month+ to get them So the thread was to see if there is an interest in them. I would like those want them to sound off
One question: in the past, when I've seen discussions on replacing pin valves with 1/4 turn valves, it was strongly recommended that you have a professional do the replacement. Is that still the case, or is this safe enough for the average Joe to do at home?
You can go to nearly all paintball e stores, ebay, etc.. and buy a valve. In reality it is very simple unless your tank had Red thread lock added to the valve it should unthread fairly easy. Opening your tank I feel would be good as it gives you ability to visually inspect the interior for excessive corrosion. I have installed many valves over the years, had to take a few apart as the oring neck seal cracked from age and leaked. When I was a teen ager I worked in a dive shop and did the annual visual certification on hundreds of tanks
