Plan C: Mark is letting me borrow his spare Viper 25 for the event. I really need to build up my stock of ESCs again... The new stuff is installed and tested, and my radio is programmed except for throttle. I am happy to report that everything electrical is working as expected. Tomorrow I test the pneumatics, fabricate my secondary mounts, touch up paint, and add the waterline tape. I may not have time for main turret covers this battle.
Pnuematics test passed with flying colors: all guns fire like expected and there were no leaks detected other than a wonky on/off valve on my 9oz tank.
Everything except for the Main turret covers and barbettes are done. Loading up the car now and will upload a pic tonight.
I pulled the secondaries last night. They really were not necessary and too much hassle for the return. I thought it was going to battle against a 1/144 Ambercrombie Saturday, but the Ball valve on it's gun was getting stuck open. This morning we had three ship skirmish/free for all/live-fire shakedown cruise. There were some hits exchanged, but it was pretty laid back. This afternoon, we had some fleet action going on, and it got pretty intense for a while. The Gustav performed very well. I am sure a detailed write up and action video will be posted in the next few days. I need to add the secondaries where the armed turrets were, make my main turret covers and barbetts, and a few other housekeeping items, but I am very happy with this boat.
