You're pulling so much gas out so fast (rapid fire, multiple guns sucking air simultaniously) that the gas expansion causes the regulator / bottle to ice up. Same effect as a blown hose. My Baden was set up with quad sterns, so firing 4 guns "fastgun" style. Solved it by installing twin bottles / regulators feeding two guns each.
I suffered the same effect firing the three triple 1/4" cannon on Rodney. The bottle froze to the bottom of the hull and I had to pour water through the hull to get it free.
