    I'm sure you're correct about the werewolf's birthplace. I was attempting to speculate humourously as to which of the things you mentioned was the embelishment!

    Another good read is a book by Leland Shanle called Vengeance; At Midway and Guadalcanal. It is a fictional book set in the historically accurate setting of World War II.
