It seems I am doing plans for the 1937 refit of the Nagato. I have plans for the ship in Papercraft but I can't seem to publicly share it so I am going to go the extra mile and build a a PDF, Ribs and such for a RC combat hobbyist to use .

I am debating using the papercraft superstructure lol, I am still trying to deside if that idea will work or not. Any way good experiment for the future.

32 ribs, three on the fore and aft one inch apart while all others are on two inch spreads. I am on the eighth rib... this is going to take a while.

I am also trying something new I am building the super structure I have completed the third level, I will post some pictures tomorrow.

It is a little after 5am. I had been building a pic in photoshop with all of the main super structure the past few days and got to where I am now happy about it to be the template to model the structure with, I got about 5 to 6 levels up along with the 6 Pilones and the main elevator tube. Little details will be later I am just getting the main shapes now. I will post a few pics some time tomorrow.

It is not finished yet, it still needs some things to be added, I wonder if this could be used to 3D print a S.S.? Only issue is the parts are just one face most are not solid.

I'd say that it's a good start. Thickening those faces into something printable can be done.

That is awesome. I really haven't tinkered with CAD yet, most of my experience has been with the Delft ship and at that I am still figuring things out. I need to buy the full version so when I do start to tinker with CAD I can use the models I have already made in Delft.

I finished the main SS, added all 4 turrets minus the gun barrels. The Radar cage is debatable in one picture it is there and in another it is not there? I'm not sure...

I built the platforms around the smoke stack now I just need to add the main supports for the front 3PF's. And I started on the first floor of the aft SS, not much to look at yet.. Im happy with most everything so far just little things to add here and there.

That is actually perfect for 3D printing . I have the Nagato kit from battlers but those superstructure teepee angled rods are a nightmare . The 3D printer can certainly print the tower with the rods in them . I haven't assembled the kit yet but
seeing this gives me hope that it will be a stl that I can print for the hull . It will be lighter too so that will help stability.

Well. who here has a 3D printer and wants to have a look and tell me how close it is to being a printable file?

I have a few 3D printers for my sized printer I would probably print it in 3-4 pieces because the main bridge might be a bit tall for the printer. But definitely would be a do able print.
