The radio which is the subject of this thread is less than half the price of that Futaba radio you posted a link to, and has more features. With your budgetary restrictions, I would have thought the choice would be obvious.

To play candy crush with it, you need to lay your candy on a hard surface that is well supported... then raise the transmitter high over your head, and bring it crashing downwards onto the candy, crushing it thoroughly. Not sure how long you can play before it negatively affects the transmitter, though.

My I 6 just arrived. Looking like it's going to be a good radio. Big plus is that the Rx comes pre-bound. It will take a while to learn all the ins & outs of it, but it's looking to be a decent, cheap radio for this hobby.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that it comes with a instruction manual that gives you a good idea how to program the radio. Makes life easier if you haven't dealt with HobbyKing radios before. :)

Can those two knobs at the top be used to control a servo or ESC variably?

I got one to evaluate. I already tested the knob with a servo and it worked fine. I am sure it would work fine with an esc and in fact... would be great for convoys that are typically running forward only. Just turn the dial and forget it. I wonder if you can do mixing and use the stick AND the knob....

Cool, was thinking of getting one since I want something that doesn't require a PC to set the endpoints and I need a knob for the rotate on my PoW.

I found several videos on this radio. Officially it is the FRSKY i6 re-badged as Turnigy as far as I can tell.

I found lots of videos regarding its programming such as:

    Overview -
    programming -

They're easy to program. You can reprogram with your ship on the water while you're driving around.

Disappointment! Seems like my RX is fried. After first receiving the radio, I just tried it out to see if it work, worked great. Tried an hour ago and the RX keeps flashing its light and not responding. I guessed that RX needed rebound to the TX and carried out the designated steps. Well, an hour later and no more options to try, it still no worky.
Any idea what is the matter?
