OK so according to my Club mates the date is April 16-18 So I have booked my room at the Day's Inn, Hagerstown tell us what else we need to know please!!!
Go to the IRC website: www.ircwcc.org and look at the events calender, bore down to the page describing spring regionals.
OK so a few questions more.... Will there be power (120v) for us to use? We bring our own tables and chairs and sun shade I assume? there Maybe food according to the posting, is it best to bring your own just in case? There must be some regulars to these that have lots of useful advice on what to bring... Home will be like 12 hours away (with no stops) so its not like nipping home if i didn't bring something will be an option. I am packing a large "Humble Pie" also... (Its a Canadian Tradition) And lots of Good-Humor! Bryan
No power at the lake. I doubt that we will be able to provide food at the lake. Yes, bring tables and sunshade. There will plenty of tool boxes full of tools, main things you need at the lake are patches, paint (dope), and of course, charged batteries. Do not leave your transmitter at home (this has happened on occasion). We should have CO2 and some drinks at the lake.
Do you know if anyone will be allowed to just watch? I was going to try and go to the makers faire event, But I have an event that weekend, So I hoped to try this possibly? I want to see a battle so badly lol
Sure come on out! Bring saftey glasses/goggles if you have them but there will probably be some extra floating around if you dont.
We have 2 battles in the morning and two in the afternoon. We TRY to start at 10:00 am and 1-2:00 pm but we are slow... It's like herding cats.... In reality we will be lakeside from 9:00 until 4:30-5:00. Stop by anytime you can, see you there!
The fun begins! Tomarrow the fleets will meet on the waters of Greenbriar State Park, Boonsburo, Md. More information is at: www.ircwcc.org under the calendar of events, spring regional link.
Well I went today (friday) with a friend. It was quite entertaining! I loved it. I took some pics and video, but have not gotten if off the camera yet.
It was nice to meet you both and your Mom, glad we could show you the battles and our boats (This is Bryan, the Bismarck and Hindenburg Captain) The little Espania seems to be the boat to beat, it even sank 3 much larger opponents in one of the sorties, and only larger waves finally sunk it.
Thanks! I am sorry but have horrible memory on certain things. where were you located in the line of tents? anything special about your ships? did yours have the cutting board?
ON THE EXTREME END (We Canadians are always on the American fringe) toward the swimming beach for some photos check out here: http://ontarioattackforce.multiply.com/photos/album/78/Spring_Regionals_Hagerstown_MD_2010 will keep adding as we get more, video to follow!
Oh ok! sorry, Im not very familiar with the ships and I dont know who had what anyway. Cant wait to see it all.
Just back from the battle, the Allies lost badly. Weather was great first day and cold and windy for the following two. Sorry you missed it, lots of sinks.
