It's a pond. Road is pretty close by too. About 25ft from shore it looks like.

We shall see. Probably other parts of the country who are deserving of a close-to-home Nats first, not that I'd complain. I just got a boost (kind of) for going in 2016... after the suicidal deer modified my Sonata hybrid (and it got totaled) yesterday**, my wife and I agreed that rather than buy a new vehicle, I would just drive my old '05 Toyota*... in return, I get a nice camper shell and a multimedia touchscreen dingus to replace the stock AM/FM/CD (it IS a bottom-of-the-line work truck with no options) that adds a satnav and a backup camera... For driving a ways with the boat and crap in the back, a nice camper shell would be good. Now, if I could only sell the idea of putting in a limited-slip diff :)

*feels weird labeling something made in 2005 'old'.
**I f**king HATE deer. I didn't like the hybrid, but it was almost paid off. So if anyone is a hunter, pm me so I can pray for your utter success against the foe.

Ja. Lucky. Very Lucky. I was 5 miles from home and got it turned around, and as I drove home, I could hear parts falling off the car (it was kind of dark at 0530). When I took it to the dealer later that day, he warned me that I should consider the car 'unsafe to drive'... I was like 'Ya THINK?!'

Just today I stumbled across a possible battle pond just outside my town. Nice sized big pond/small lake, huge sandy shore, covered pit area with a restaurant above it ... it has a lot of potential. If the pond itself pans out (not too deep or nasty), I may submit it for next year's Nats.

South Carolina has no casements. (not low in the water).
    Does have superfiring turrets
Not in same category as Nassau.

Why don't you build your own and put it in a suitcase? They are certainly small enough to take on a plane. Or you could courier any other ship that your math tells you is the best. Come show us why you are right.

Buffalo NY, is the nearest, or you can fly to NYC and get to ride with me for 6 hours and I could "teach you" about the hobby.

Overlay Wades pond on that pond and post it.
