Looks great lou, I need to build mine for batteries, goldbat 3s LiPos on Amazon, many different options for C rating and capacity, I ended up with the 6000 mah 55c ones
Kevin, the hull kits have come a long way from that alpha version you have. If you wanted a replacement, up to date model, let me know. Per alpha tester rules, you are entitled to an up-to-date hull.
Batteries ordered, Black Friday sales started today. Zeee 3S Lipo Battery 5200mAh 11.1V 80C with XT60 Connector Hard Case Battery for RC Car Truck Tank Boat RC Plane Airplane Quadcopter Helicopter (2 Pack)
Anyone know how to tell if a BC solenoid is 6 or 12 volt? I did order and receive them last year, not sure in my stash which is which.
Take the top nut off and pull the silver cover off the coil. The voltage should be written on the coil, at least on most of mine it is.
Ok to run 11.2 volts through them? I did look at the solenoids, all except one were labeled 6. One had 12 (and I swear I ordered 4 of them). Of course they could be stashed somewhere in the shop...
Gorilla tape on outside Going to do the steps backwards, will complete the hull and then figure out where all the internals want to go.
Back to the build. Trying to get a pump to fit under the step, first order of business is to cut out the bottom (this also removed the previous failed attempt). Test hull plate created Holder V2, this gets bolted to the bottom of the hull (stays in the ship) SJS 45 pump that slides into the holder Removable screen (1/8th hole size) Ok, the next issue is the bend in the 3/8th (ID) tubing, was kinking so I need to find a different version. Went to McMaster-Carr and have a few to try out
I want to add for the audience, Lou's hull is a very early production hull that is a one-off belt drive modification. Normal SJS Malaya kits have a designated pump outlet location in the deck rim after the deck step.
Oh Lou, you're making me want to go back and reconfigure the battery bay on my project a bit. that's nice!
