The trick to sealing rudder posts and prop shafts is to use a stuffing tube. A stuffing tube is a brass or stainless-steel tube that the prop-shaft or rudder post goes through, that you fill with grease or oil to prevent water from entering. These are commonly constructed from K&S Brass tubing available at your local hobby store, or from the stainless steel tubing located in the same section.
