Do you have them digitally, or on paper? If you have them digital, there's a free program that does a nifty job of scaling that I can send you.
Both actually. Though I far prefer .tif. I put it in pdf because of concerns over scaling differences between the data file and the printer. Knowing the dpi of the printer and creating the pdf with that resolution seemed to make sense to me. Then again many oddish things make sense to me so that may not be the best way to judge.[] Pax, J.
Lol. As long as it makes you feel better I promise not to judge you. Might throw cream pies from the corner, but I won't judge you
Guys, Could I get added to the list? I'm one of those facinated with WW1 era ships. The 1/144 scale is quite limiting with smaller ships and I find this scale "appealing." Thanks, Eric
And from WW1 it is just a short step to Predreadnoughts!!! GWF here we come. Anyway welcome aboard. I am currently working on a flushdeck destroyer and the German light cruiser Strassburg
Flush is the word when your destroyer meets Tirpitz!! Hehehe. Hard to balance my love of old American predreads with my Fast Guns prediliction for Axis ships
Thanks for the welcome guys! I'm thinking of a predreadnought, WW1 cruiser, old flush deck 4 stacker, armored cruiser Blucher or an early dreadnought. I know that's a wide array but this is the era I love. I currently finishing my Treaty ship and am looking for the next project. I have an idea of what I would like to do but am just going to have to settle down with a calculator and ship list and go to town. I really like the WW1 Deutchland (yes that wart) and the Radetzky. The 4 stackers have always been unique. Plus as far as I know, no one has built one yet (I may be wrong). Really any of the early European dreadnoughts would be great. Not to large and able to manage. I saw the listing of rules on an earlier post. Is there a complete set out there yet? Same for the ship list. Again thanks for the welcome, Eric
Still working on the ship list. What has been done is a series of Excel documents in the files section. Look under "New Battlestations Ship List"
I wanted to do a Deutschland but could not find a good set of plans. Or any plans for the Blucher. I got the flushdecker plans with thoughts of doing a 1/144 convoy ship only, mainly the ex USS Stewart as IJN PB-102...then I though, scaled up would be good for 1/96. It is my first scratch build hull so I am taking it slowly.
Of this I am well aware...I hope to get a couple of torps out before the end! For long ago I realized that with the kinds of ships I like the best I could hope for was to sink well.
It occurs to me that for the froggily minded I have plans for Bretagne and Courbet, too. Old-school predreads. Yummy.
Eric, have you considered HMS Powerful or HMS Terrible, at 500 feet length, 22 knots and 14,200 tons? They had LOTS of guns, plus four torpedo tubes. And a really pretty bow shape. We had a 1:144 one here in the Ausbg, but it was framed from MDF, and when it was sunk, it sort of melted.
The problem with that pair is that they were launched too early for most of the club's rules. Most state launched between 1905-1945, or in that range at any rate.
