    Nice!

no worries, Phil got ahold of me tonight. I hope they find a spot near Atlanta, because then I'd just leave a set of batteries with my family and travel with the Gearing in a Pelican case when I go down there.

All I can say after battling against and watching Kevin's Agincourt this weekend is that it is a beast. No one has ever seen an Agincourt like this one! I'm very impressed with how well it battled. Well done Kevin. This is another great 5 unit Allied ship for the fleet. :)

Thanks Mike, it was great trading shots with you this past weekend.

The list of things to fix before the next battle is pretty short, just a few very minor things here and there. Still need to get used to shooting guns at the right distance, I started out too close, then probably too far. I checked the trajectory on the sides and 3-6" was optimal. I might try some sacrificial test firing at Seydlitz during the Bradford event

I checked and I have two decent videos that I should be able to post at some point.

With two stern sidemounts being unusual for allies (and your boat being frequently mistaken for a ID), put barrels into your midship turrets and enjoy the stunned look on your opponent's faces as you turn their sides into sawdust.

Adding a few picturing the last battle at Nate’s
    Stayed up with this ram

Boat did OK, all systems were fine, sank in two battles. Boat is probably just a bit too heavy since she would stay up post sink
    My list grew a bit
A few small things like bilge magnets
Might move some things around inside so I can pull weights out from the bow, have about 20oz in there now. Measured center of gravity to figure out the shift, balanced on a level
    14CF82F2-B036-49B2-B0D7-D48F969EFDFC.jpeg
Might shift batteries forward, box aft. Looks ugly at first, shouldn’t be too bad

If the weekend goes well I’ll do the shift, I’ll try to make small changes on a day by day basis to keep the ship together. Might resheet too

Looks great ... and yeah, a ship like that with so much weight at the stern (all those guns & solenoids etc) pretty much requires moving as much of the systems as possible toward the bow (bottle, regulator, batteries, etc). I hope that you enjoy her enough to bring her to next Nats, it would be cool to see her on the water.

Thanks Chris, I’ll see how the sides shape up for next nats and see what to bring
I worked on wiring last night, trimming some and lengthening the run to bow sidemount

Getting ready for brouhaha, finishing up the mods I started in the fall
I put in the battery mounts I printed a bit ago, trimmed some wires today. Not as clean as I would like but I’ll give it a shot.

Planning to resheet tomorrow, then need to do a systems check, and get it to the pond to rebalast. A few other small mods planned

Tested everything except CO2 and guns, will get that this week or next weekend. All connections filled with dielectric grease to ward off the copper sulfate. Will paint bottom and add waterline tape as well. This wi be primary ship for brouhaha, Seydlitz backup

I got to try out a Ming/Kessler/Hunt auto pump of doom at the Hagerstown battle. The first brushless pump I've installed in a ship. 2200kV outrunner at 4S LiFe, 30A hobbyking car ESC, Kessler auto board.

The auto circuit required turning a two position switch to a three position switch, with a down, neutral, and up setting combination. I did the conversion on a d6xi, and after a little research I figured out something that worked. I used the flap channel, with settings such that one position was down, one position was up. To get neutral, I mixed the flap channel with itself, so when I actuated another (otherwise unused) switch, it would mix away the throw to give me an overall neutral. Here is a list of the settings I used:

    Travel Adjustment screen
    Flap 0, 100
    Flap 1, -100

    Flaps Screen
    Norm (0), 100
    Land (1), -100

    Mix 1 Screen
    Flap --> Flap ACT
    D – 0%
    U (-100%)
    SW – AIL D/R
    TRIM IHN

The mix is using the Ail D/R switch to mix away 100% of the 'up' when it gets actuated.

So, this would work with two switches, but I picked up some three position switches to see if I could make it work on a single switch. I used a multimeter to verify continuity between the negative (black) leads of each switch, so I could put both those wires on the center pin of the switch without fear of electrical excitement. Moving the switch to one side would actuate one of the switches, but not the other. The end result was that the 'neutral' would be with the switch down, "down" would be with the switch in the mid position, and "up" would be with the switch in the up position. The auto pump is set up so "neutral" is auto, down is off, up is on. Not a big deal that the positions aren't in order because the auto circuit works and the only time you move the switch is turning the pump off for picking up the boat out of the water

There are probably other ways to make this work, but once I found a combination that I could keep straight I went with it given limited prep time before battle. Here are some pictures of the radio mod.

In the first picture, I pulled the AIL D/R switch and replaced it with the three position (blue) switch

Here you can see the wiring. I took both black leads and connected them to the middle connection, and one switch lead on either side (had to pull leads from the flap switch)

Now pump install. Here is the famous rose box. I pulled out (or didnt reinstall) the two brushed pumps I had been using

And here is the pump installed with the water sensor (PC pipe fwd of pump)

The pump worked great at Hagerstown. No issues with the auto, just need to make sure the switch is in the correct position when turning on the boat or else the ESC will enter programming mode, which is not a show stopper, but you can mess things up.

This pump is a beast. I took a new personal high for single pump damage without a sink. 104-27-65 (fresh balsa). She sank in the next battle with 99-18-49 and a couple rams (after sinking the other fleet in both battles). A+ work by the makers of this awesome technology
Here is a picture sequence of finishing off the Ostfriesland before succumbing to battle damage. Latched on with haymaker

Well, the coach called over to the bullpen and told Agincourt to start warming up. Kongo turning is pretty bad, I have a couple new rudders to try but might be shifting to Agincourt for campaign/night battle / relief primary boat. Kongo is also brand new, so there is something to be said for having a seasoned boat on the ready at Nats. Resheeted her this weekend.
I had been hesitant using Agincourt because her gun layout isn't great for convoy hunting, but then I realized that I could just add another bow sidemount.
I figured that the boat with 7 turrets needed to have 7 offensive units on board, so I added another 1.5 unit boat sidemount since I had the weight, room, and parts (new one is in A, the one in B has been there since beginning but never used)
    15953E0B-CC7D-4327-9F81-44547D071376.jpeg
Also pulled the motors for a brush inspection, one was just about at end of life so I'm replacing both.
I also printed up an LED holder for night battle. Direct line of sight to an LED is too bright, so I had up a housing with a magnet in the bottom that will shield the light. Turned out pretty good

A small amount of reassembly left, she'll come to the pond with Kongo and Fiji for last round of sea trials within the next couple days

Kevin do you have room for a big enough tank to run all of those cannons simultaneously? that thing would be an unapproachable monster in a COD
