Having a heck of a time printing the document to a 1/72 scale or even the 1/144 scale so that I can use dwg as a pattern for the frames. Losing too much clarity on the cut and paste to word to get something that is usable for production - how do you guys do it?
I use a FREE program called GIMP a lot of tutorials on YouTube . If your original is a low resolution you can only clean it up only so much. Make a transparency retrace the IMPORTANT lines. always check your length and beam measurement most online plans and some printed are distorted.* *this is a generalization not ref to Beaver post
I've used a program called Data Thief to recover hull stations from bad plans. It was created to pull data out of academic papers graphs so it takes a little futzing with but is pretty easy to use.
Michael: I have some USS Fletcher plans that I can give you. We have an event in Auburn this Saturday the 9th. If you can make it, I will hand you a set already printed to scale. Gary
I should also add, we have a complete USS Fletcher hull and superstructure floating around that you could probably buy for $50. You would then just need to install the internals (guns, radio, battery, etc.) Gary
