Yes but once you do get hit once or twice and a MOO wants a mouse to play with your his huckleberry [:0]

And as I found out the pond is only so big. You have to turn sooner or later! [:(]

Thanks guys for the help, and the sympathy. Ill think about it, and i know monk, that the Doria would be a nice target for you. But i dont know just know, but i do see the arguement for turning over speed as a battleship in fast gun.

I know of a certain DORIA that was feared for years and years and I'm sure would be feared it just showed up at a event today. I never heard of a LOIN that was feared (except a Panthera leo). But being Allied that might have something to do with it. I would recommend the DORIA though. Speed is nice to have. Nothing like getting out of trouble just as fast as getting into it. But being able to turn also is very important. The DORIA is about half a foot shorter and a little wider. That tells me she is able to turn a smaller/tighter turn. If your involved in a knife fight inside a phone booth you need to turn quickly. If you need to leave in a hurry being able to out maneuver your opponent works just as good as speed.

Go with your gut on this.

Thanks Danny, for once, someone recommended one of the ships to me (not that everyone elses help was well, helpful). I think I might go with the Doria, and hold up the Axis State Connecticut, ha ha

Go the portpolar bear web site there
are pictures of my Lion in side and out.
I have battled the Lion for a number of
years in the MWC. It has been in battles with between
2 to 40 Ships on the water = Fast is good and really
    fun.

These are both great ships. They are both class 4, and not too big.
Lion is a little faster, and turns great, and is allied.
Doria is a little slower, but also turns pretty well, and although generally axis, could possibly be run as an allied boat if the teams are lop-sided.
Not that I want to reccomend one boat over the other to you.
But I would go with the Doria. It is shorter, and therefore easier to transport, and could fight on either side.

Not to mention if you go Axis you will have to MOO to run and cover behind with deadly captains.

go with the Doria, Turning is better. And no one will sing the "in The Jungle " song to you at every event. [8D]

Plus the Doria has twin rudders, which gives you the extra 50% rudder size.

Yeah, not much difference there. The Doria has a bit more room to fit them.

True enough. I'm an Allied captain (and a Queen Mary fan) so I am required to put in plugs for the Lions when I get the opportunity.

I have found conflicting reports on how many shafts the Andrea Doria had after modernization. Does any one have Conway's that can tell me for sure either way? A Copy of the Conway's for this ship would be nice if any one had a scanner and could email it to me. Any takers? Thanks for any help.

My book says it had 2 shafts after it was rebuilt. And it retained both in line rudders.
