Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the HMS Benbow:
    www.cityofart.net/bship/benbow.html
Two 1/4" singles, six BB secondaries, four torpedo tubes, about 41" long. Granted, not as odd as her contemporary, HMS Victoria (the only other ship to mount these 111 ton 16.25" guns) , but with single barbette guns, the mains can be armed with rotating Arizona cannons.

Interesting. I like the following Victoria class a little better - 16.25" guns in a twin turret, which means it would be an alternative to building the more common Abercrombie or Roberts. Although the Victoria was sunk before our 1895 cut-off date, her sister ship the Sans Pareil was in service until 1904, so the class should be legal.

Wow. Looks like the gun had to recenter on the barbette to reload after every shot. No wonder they were slow to reload.

If you weighed 111 tons, you'd take forever to reload, too :) I'm a bit over 1/10th of a ton, and it takes about 2 seconds for me to reload :)

I have plans for both Benbow and Victoria.

The Victoria does have better armament, but with the lack of available White/Indiana cannons, the Benbow really caught my eye. There is an article in the knowledge base on adding a bearing to the riser tube (for a fast gun cannon, but it should transfer), and there should barely be room enough to rotate the entire Arizona assembly.

That's the same setup I have in my Henri - two singles, the valve is stationary and the riser rotates.

Perhaps we should have a rule exception for Victoria allowing her to be sunk by ramming. Only by some one running a Camperdown. :D

Yes, but it must sink bows first and imbed itself into the bottom vertically.

Controlling how a ship sinks is an elementary exercise in internal arrangement between low-density and high-density objects in the hull. If at first you don't succeed, strategically placed foam blocks directly under the deck should influence the sinking without unduly affecting its un-sunk performance.

Elementary? For some reason it takes a good bit of rearranging things internally for me to get my boats to sink level.

That's right, I had forgotten that. You used a JEV instead of a MJV in that setup, right?

Right, I used the JEV quick exhaust valves. They were pretty efficient too, I had the accumulator down to 0.5 cuin each, when the CLASSIFIED was working on the bench. But it failed in operation and I had to disconnect it at the pond, resulting in a very weak gun.

It was still powerful enough to hole the Gustav V ;)
