Two inches would exclude a standard Indiana design for weapons...you would almost have to go with fixed guns or an offset accumulator & valve. The latest Strike design is taller than the Strike Mk I from the early reports I am hearing. Too bad the local machine shop is so expensive.
As I grew up in Arkansas, and I LOVE me some monitors, this ship drew my interest. Once I realized how hard it would be to hit, well...

I need to measure to make sure. I love that class of monitor as well.

As the files are very large I will not display them here. Unfortunately they are in 1/48 and are too big for my scanner so I have given you two vastly overlapping files that can be assembled as needed they are here:

**links removed, plans provided in Resource Manager: https://rcwarshipcombat.com/resources/monitor-uss-arkansas-bm-7-hull-lines.7/
    **
Others who are more skilled and/or have time and inclination can clean up and distribute them as you will.
I would just like a copy.

For a lark I assembled the two sections to make one, then adjusted the DPI to make a 1:144 scale version. I've uploaded 1/48 and 1/144 versions in pdf format here:

Also - this thing is tiny in 1/144!

Thanks, and yes it is tiny.

Which should motivate some one to build one.

Have you seen this yet http://www.shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=74172 ? Looks pretty good so far, and looks like he has very nice plans also.

J, I can feel the tendrils of your evil Allied machinations from here, taunting me like that and going so far as to post the frames drawings... fiendish, but it will not save you!

Surely the master of the .5 destroyer could knock one out in an hour or so. :)

    LOL... someone's up early today!

EDIT: You wouldn't believe the number of people asking me when I'm going to finish Othar's refit! Battlers, my Boy Scouts, even the wife!

Woke up at 5 and couldn't sleep. C'est la vie.

Othar is the guide for my 1/144 Ward. I found a paper model of a Clemson based AVP. Ready made templates for a paper superstructure.

Sweet! Othar will be back, count on it :) Too many people demanding that the Gentleman Adventurer put in some appearances.

Plans ordered from The Floating Drydock last night. Now, can I get it operational by the end of September?

The plans arrived today...They are blue and VERY hard to read. One page is listed as 1/8" (96 scale) to the foot, but the length doesn't add up at 28.5" @ the waterline. The daft looks good at 2". the majority of the pages are in 1/4" to the foot, or 1/48 scale. It looks like I am going to have to scan a few of these pages in and clean up in Photoshop.

I have that set and those are exactly the problems I had with it.

I did some more measuring, and all sheets are out of scale tolerances for 1/48. AND they are out by different variances. One has the hull at 56" (224') another has it at 56.75 (225.5'), and the profile view has it at 28.5" (228'). If the plans were more readable or consistent, I would be more confident about the project. As it stands now, I think it might be time to look for another project...

The originals would have been in scale, but these are copies or possibly copies of copies.
