Well along the lines of Carls idea. I was looking around once at mini R/C camreas and the was one that you put on a pair of gogles and were you look the camrea looks. So if you mount the camrea on like a cannon or somthing all you have to do is look at a enemy ship and fire.
You could send steering signals to your cannon/ship via the goggles? Like heli pilots' night vision goggles? Sounds expensive. Would probably cost a lot of units too[], and leave you with no guns to fire.
I'd say its coming, sooner or later some rich crazy guy will have a auto-targeting system of some sort. Just counting the days. 241,238... 241,239...
