Good day, Captains! As the duly elected Axis Admiral for the 2018 IR/CWCC Nationals, I would like to take a moment to invite all like-minded battlers to come join the Axis fleet, because after all: In the days and weeks to follow, I will be posting a series of ship review, strategy and tactics articles to this thread for your planning and enjoyment, as well as keeping track of who is planning on attending, with what ships, etc. So, if you plan on attending the 2018 Nats and bringing your favorite Axis ship, and especially convoy ship(s), do let me know, so you can be included in the fun. Admiral Chris Don't be schtoopid, be a schmartie, c'mon join the Axis party!

If you want to have campaign battle next year, bring a working convoy ships. Looking at the rules, and the math, we will probably need 6 of them. That's 5 more than last year. Get busy!
Reserved for Strategy and Tactics articles. For a look at some elegant tactics, for a more civilzed age, check out: http://www.scrapcombatships.com/commodore/tactics/tactics.html I will be adding some new tactics articles to cover current events in the coming weeks.
I'll be there with the Lutzow and hopefully a DKM Scharnhorst. I prefer my cookies to have minimal chocolate chips.
VDT and possibly Adm Scheer. Are we really having our Axis strategy meetings in this open environment? Shouldn't we open a Google Group and invite only axis members. Of course it is only toy boats but why bother if the enemy is part of the planning? Barry T
Got you added to the list, Barry. As to strategy, etc., there's nothing new under the sun. Literally. There's nothing planned for next year that hasn't been done before by either the Axis or the Allies, and sometimes both. What it will really come down to is which fleet has done the actual preparation on the workbench, and practicing on the pond. Other battlers have said it before: 90% of the battle is won on the workbench, and this last Nats proved it true once again. That goes far beyond which fleet might have a benefit of this or that rule or the other rudder/gun/hull configuration. Which is why I figure that having things out in the open like this is just fine. If people are prepared, truth will tell, and our strategies and tactics will work. If our boats don't work, then nothing will work. It's as simple as that. Hope you're having a good week, Chris
Bismarck/Kumano/T2 Tanker with the most, 17 runs ever done in a single sortie. Still running the original skin from 2009. Just beat out Barry, he had 16.
Ill be bringing the Badenough as Primary and the VDT as a backup, Golo for convoy and hopefully a Duca for cruiser Battle..... I am looking forward to seeing everybody again! Craig
So, Dave & Craig added, note to self: No raisins, be sure to bring enough cookies... Still need more convoy ships, but hopefully people will feel motivated to put some together over the winter.
Lies! Lies I tell you! Its nothing more than an Allied plot to Disappoint the Righteous Axis truth!!!! WE HAVE THE COOKIES!!! (been there had them. (There really tasty)).
