All had an unexpected turn in the weather and rushed out both Bismarck and Yamato for a run to compare Bismarck's speed to Yamato's. :blink:I couldn't have chosen the worst sea conditions to run my 3rd speed trial and water test. Well lets just say Bismarck nearly sank because of the water coming in over C and D turret and it's true German ships were wet at the bows. The Go Pro Hero camera captured the large waves breaking over the turrets and smashing into the bridge. It also captured Bismarck overtaking Yamato head on into the waves. That video will take me time to edit and get the dramatic music to fit but the camera never budged. We had strong winds to begin with but the gusts were up to 50mph on the water. I had to bring Bismarck in several times because I HAD trouble operating the pump switch. More on that in the Update in OB Bis refit in the A.R.C.C. section. Yamato on the other hand, well it stayed out the entire time and if it had a soul I would say it thoroughly enjoyed itself out there being bashed around and felt right at home. GF used a larger telephoto lens to get the distance shots and they came out great. I got about 50 good ones so I am going to post the best from that batch here and in the A.R.C.C section. I first got to get them to Photo bucket. Will be a few days before I get it all complete.
Great photos Curt. I guess these are the ones that were taking using Meg's lens? This was a great run and I can't wait to get Iowa out in similar weather! Tom
Reminds me of spring regionals. It is a good test of pumps and deck seals. You stayed afloat so I would say you are ok with that. Great photos. Does the girlfriend run a ship? Nats has a way of making everybody a captain....
Lol Thanks Iceman but's just color and lots of bits to hide it's true ugliness. More coming in a few minutes. ...
