BADEN Propulsion Setup????

    Anyone out there have recommendations on how to set up a Baden .... Motor-Esc-Propsize -Drag discs-gearboxs, direct drive? thoughts and ideas welcome.

    If it were me I would do brushed 550 geared drive, 25amp ESC, 1-3/4" 4 blade 25 pitch prop, dagger style rudders, Of course drag disks.

    2" prop, needs more power since it only has one of them.
    The BC two motor to one shaft gear box is a good idea too.

    My Baden ran a "Yamato prop" (2.25" 4 blade) on a geared 550 can motor. Drag disks on outer shafts or the damn thing would hydroplane (trimmed aft) or submerge (trimmed neutral). You want as much thrust as possible to maximize your accel and wash over rudders, especially since as a 28-sec boat you're not usually running around at full throttle but camping an area. Most of the time when you're moving it's with the rudder hard over to spin your guns onto target.
