The french will be the french and will stand with the winner (maybe) although indiscriminate fire may also be warranted.

    First battle report
    Greg sunk1.jpg

    Teething issues & must fixes.
First major issue was with the pump switch. Everything works on the bench but the pump would fail to turn on shortly after the battle starts. After two sorties of this I swapped out the Turnigy switch and the pump worked for the rest of the day.
    Plan A:
    get brushless pump working
    Plan B:
Swap out the Turnigy switch for a Pol0lu.
(yes the Turnigy and Pololu switch a relay)

I was having intermittent control issues all day. Sometimes there were pauses between forward and reverse, sometimes not. The guns fired intermittent.
I hate intermittent..... I am going to move the receiver antenna above the deck. Hope that works.

The Aft turret was open and took on a LOT of water. I had to stop repeatedly to let it pump out.

    GET THAT SEALED.

The boat turns very nice, I love the haymaker.

Long term fix: The fiberglass deck is heavy, I plan on remaking the deck out of plywood, but that can wait until Winter.

You might try ABS, I always liked it as superstructure material. if you can sketch it up in draftsight, getting it laser cut in ABS is not terribly expensive (but more than wood unless your time and hassle is worth anything), and does not warp from water (and is a skosh more than 50% the density of typical glastic/glass filled epoxy panels).

take some shower pan liner and make a flap that fits the top of the turret with notches/cuts for the barrels. Will keep the majority of the water out AND let you easily replace it when needed.

You can also glue it to the inside of the turret, or the bottom.

    Great idea.
I went with closed cell foam. compression fit for now. I will glue it in after successful next battle. IMG_0929.JPG

They are working great! I have been using them for the bow side mounts on the Washington for several battles. The haymaker that I was liking is a
