Ok so I have been doing a little research ( knew to this rc thing) on the electronical components. I have the understanding that servos are connected to a Reciever which transmits to the radio controller is that the basic set up?

More or less. You may also want to use an ESC(s) (electronic speed control) which will control your motor(s), and also provide power for the receiver itself, and all the servos. If you opt for servos throwing mechanical switches to control your motor(s), you will need a receiver battery pack.

Your inputs to the transmitter (ie stick position) are transmitted to and then outputted by the reciever in the boat. Whatever is hooked up to the receiver (Servo, ESC, Firing or pump board, lights, etc) decides what to do with that control information.

Hi Guys if I use 12 volt into my Mtronic viper 20 amp SC does this mean I will need a separate
6 volt supply for my Rx (Futaba 6EX fasst) and have to cut the power wire from the SC
