Battle @ Cle Elum this Sunday.
I'll be there with the Suffren and the Maru. My intent is to arrive between 10:30 and 11.

I'll be there with the North Carolina for you to try running over again Nick. I picked up a new tank of CO2 today so hopefully we can get a few more shots off this time.

Poor little maru? The Suffren had some sort of bizarre steering problem, every time she got near she would t-bone the NC, lifting the Suffren out of the water as she rode up my deck! I think I suffered more damage to my balsa from that than enemy fir.

it was truly the damndest thing. must be some sort of local area effect. that tub of yours you call a ship seems to create a depression in the water, pulling in all nearby things

I have a video of the NC ramming the Suffren - a second later the Insufferable sank - coincidence? i think not.

Tub? OK, maybe she isn't the best looking ship on the water but she sure turns nice. Someday I will get around to painting her. I only rammed you because the I-Boat was in trouble and I was watching her in case she went down. I am still new to battling after all so rookie mistake.

Alex, I think you will like the open waters at Cle Elum. Its a great pond for the big ships to play in. Just stay away from Nick and his goofy special gravity theories.

Should make for fun times. I have been out to those ponds before but not with a big ship. Is anybody bring CO2?

Today was not my lucky day. Sunk twice in different ships... have some fun pictures of the sinks though, sadly not of start to finish, hopefully the videos provide some decent coverage when I get to them.

Pulled the videos off it last night without a problem, haven't popped batteries in yet to check that it has full functionality. I'll probably open it first and visually inspect it to make sure its clear of all pond water, scum and other residue first.
I think I'm pretty much done with the flipcams on tripods idea, and not because of the dunking this one got. The video is just lacking. Without an operator to follow the action too much occurs offscreen at times, or far away, or right under the camera it can bea bit frustrating to try to follow whats going on. It would be good supplemental footage to splice into a video if we had a live operator on shore, following the action, zooming where appropriate, etc with another camera.

Those are some impressive photos. What a beautiful place to battle! I'll bet Mehoshi looked great on the bottom, with such clear water.
