A quick use of the ole MkI Eyeball and a piece of paper does a fine job for small center bed prints. Its when you start using more of the bed that you find out how good of a job you've yone
Ok so I used up the pla it came with. Every mm of it lol. This thing needs a power upgrade to run abs reliably and safely. The bed is drawing to much current for the board to handle. Going to solder it and see if that helps then get an external mosfet. May upgrade the hotend as well. Stay tuned.
Good luck. Get a decent power supply. I tried an old server power supply, only to find out its "12v" output was actually 13.6v and it damaged my cheap chinese control board. I replaced it with a proper british-made board, and returned to the original power supply. Switching to a PEI print surface significantly improved my ABS printing performance and negated the need for upgrading the power supply.
Ok after way too long of a hiatus, I finally got my printer in one piece. Still having software issues but that's a story for the thread I moved this saga too. Lol Point is I'm finally getting around to cleaning the bench. I am moving the DKM Scharnhorst onto the bench for a refit this week, then it's back on the P.E. I have no way to get to a battle it will be legal in but maybe I get a few of the Dallas area big gun guys to have a go at it. Lol. Truthfully I'm tired of getting sad every time I go in the room and see it's lidless bones beconing from the stack of models. I will have to build and or 3d print all of it as buying ready made is out of the question on this one. What little one could buy to use on it would be a waste anyways lol. But I will not have carte blanche on this build so it's just getting main guns for now as I have them and maybe a few secondaries if I can get some more of my guns working again. Just finally got a paintball shop close so I can get a quick fill for testing without having to buy a filling station now. And with my brother all moved in and expressing interest in the hobby, I Am BACK!
