I am however open to suggestions on building techniques for a good looking, durable, light weight superstructure. As this is the first one I've personally done from scratch, and I'd like it to look good. At least from 10 feet
Try to be patiant Nikki, cuz remember that good things come to those who wait and that Delayed Gratification is the best. And with that said, Hoping something Great comes Your Way. Craig
She is an absolute Marvel of German Engineering! And quite Pretty to Boot!(boat) a lil nautical Pun there
Thinking of changing the super and renaming it the seydlitz as it can be used as a Russian. Since the Russians purchased it before the outset.
Actually I meant Lutzow. Lol. I have been really busy with work so I can have the $ to do this ship up rite. It will be my fleet flagship and I will most likely be quite cranky about it's care and feeding. I hope it likes allied transports and destroyers, as I plan to feed it a steady diet of them lol.
J, She's a great ship. But keep for the DS battle keep her with her larger brother, it's the only way she can protect her larger brother ok. Nikki
Sorry J. I wasn't trying to get you mad at me OK :-( and that one think I've been trying to work on. I'm still way to attached to Prinz and I need to work on that.. and it's really hard cause I care about her so much.. Nikki
I know this looked like so many other threads on here that look like they died and will stay dead, lol. This one is not gonna die just yet. I am going back to driving over the road this month and so will be able once again to make to battles. Also, and more importantly as least for the purposes of this thread, I will be able to finally retrieve the PE from deep dry dock at Mikey's in OH. I still need torpedo cannons for it as well as an entire drive system. I was thinking of using 2 of gearboxes from BC to power each shaft with 2 550's. I am powering the outer shafts and dummying the center as this will allow to take advantage of the fact that battle stations rules allow differential steering. On 12V this should be sufficient power. I was not going to arm any of the secondaries but after seeing Marks neat little printed BIC cannon I may end up arming some. Better to be cannons than ballast lol. I will update this with pics as I get things moving. I am actually shooting for float tests and main gunnery practice by spring/early summer. Then I will do basic superstructure and then I can do the torps and any secondaries that I end up arming. Then I can detail it out over the winter.
I wish you would just concentrate on finishing any one of your ships so I can have something to shoot at. My ship will get done, and I will enjoy fighting it every time I take it out. As long as I can keep you from constantly hovering over it long enough to arm it and get it in the water HAHAHA!
