Ok guys I just ordered my 3d printer kit. Went with the Anet A8 DIY kit. Also ordered ABS from Hatchbox as it was the only filament brand name I recognized and it was also on sale. Got red but that's what paint is for lol. So obviously I will have questions that censored tube won't answer. I'm sure you print guru's can help me out. Now I need to order a water cooled speed control for my speed boat. Need 120a+ and 4-6 cell capacity. Any suggestions?
Nick means the wires going into the hot bed flex and short out .New beds should have connector that solves it. I have printed over 20 spools with no problem on my a8/tronxy 802
Ok. I ordered the self leveling upgrade parts with it so I will pay close attention to those wires and figure out how to secure them so this won't happen. I was a Navy electrician you know. Lol.
Yes I looked on HK and I'm just not sure what works and what is Crap. I've had 120 amp stuff fry at 60 amps draw on a watt meter from HK before so I am looking for something that someone can endorse as any money wasted now is money not spent on the new shop to build the 1/96th hulls and cannons I want to make available to hopefully grow the format and possibly bring back some more big gun guys from the deep.
Its more than that. Depending on what they've upgraded or what bin they've grabbed parts out of, and the general QC of the parts... The wiring itself to the bed and control board may be of insufficient gauge. The board may be unable to safely sink the amp load for the heated bed. The power supply may not be able to support the amp load without voltage drop and increased amp-load (remember the heated bed is a resistive load) (which the questional control board heatsinking, connectors and wiring between all an increased issue). The firmware may not have thermal runaway protection enabled, which is a problem as apparently many of the knockoff hot-ends they supply these with are prone to having either the thermistor come loose or the heating cartridge make an exit. Do they even come with a power switch yet, or are they still yank-the-cord appliances? I'm likely missing a few things. I've never bought one of them, but I can tell you that you can google "anet fire" and enjoy. Be safe, be careful. There is a reason these things are cheap as shit.
And in completely unrelated news I acquired 3 more aircraft this week. A freewing 90mm EDF F16 with retracts and lights. A parkzone Spitfire with retracts. And just an hour ago an L4 Piper Cub 40 size rec ready. Other two were bind and fly. I really need the shop now lol. Getting the junk cars and my landlords brothers travel trailer moved over the next two weekends so it should be soon.
I currently have a few kilos of Matterhackers and Hatchbox ABS that I'm using. They seem to work pretty well, no issues that I have noticed. Once those are through, I'll be asking the same question about what to buy next.
Thanks Beaver I will give them a try. Took a few minutes to clear the ways again as things were getting out of hand. We won't talk about this pic lol. Gonna be a long shop thrash tonite so I can go to bed. Lol. Then if the wind lets up, had tornadoes 15 miles away last night, hope to go flying tomorrow afternoon.
