HAHA, in the imortal words of horatio hornblower athmmemmmnmmerrrhmmmm, I ment geographical not physical location er whatever lmao! On a more serious note, this forum was started in 2007. Who has a battlestations boat? What is it? and what is its degree of completion?

    I know in Ohio...
    Mikeys Straussberg- practically finished
My Scharnhorst (WWII)- ready for sheeting
Phils Tashkent- never know with that guy, he might have it in the pond shooting geese right this second!
Dustin-Mogador-hull framed, latest intel has main guns armed, and builder has some knowlege of building arizona type torpedo launchers...

So in ohio right now we have two capital ships and two large destroyer/small cruisers that are nearing battle readiness. What is going on outside of Ohio?

The Treaty Conferance is AUG 19-21, I am throwing the gauntlet down to any battlestations members to show up with or without boats

Well, I'll be showing up with a few Treaty boats and a nice set of 1/96 Jean Bart plans to drool over. :)

    Guys
I just spoke with Eric, and he says to bring our battlestations boats to the conference and have some battles if we can.
If we can't get the boats battle-ready, then we will at least drive them around and get some serious sea trials in.
I know I can have the Strasbourg ready to run around.
    Battle-ready may be a stretch..

Just meant to be playful, not mean! Sorry!

It just struck me funny that most/all the French captains were from Ohio. Must be something in the water... :D

You might have hurt our little froggy feelings.
    Not that we have any.

    Oh by the way.
I no longer have the Mogador. Dustin has it now.
So the Strasbourg is my only boat.
If you want to up-date the list.

I see that Carl has moved to Indiana.
He wanted to move to Ohio. But couldn't bring himself to building a Frenchie. So Indiana was as close as he could come.
    Haha.

And we have Phill (the_frog) listed twice with his Tashkent.
They are one and the same.
Although admittedly it is somewhat like Jeckle, and Hyde.

    Lol! Good one, Mikey!

    Tugboat,
Shimakaze is on hold for the forseeable future. Please add Graf Spee to my ship list. And please change my home port from Round Rock, TX to Columbia City, IN.

    Thanks,

    Carl

Well, Phil (AKA Bad Phil, AKA Frendly Fire Phil) and Mikey (more Brit lately it seems) love to run French boats from back in their MBG days. I have seen VHS of those two offering up a fresh helping of "pwnage" in some big gun battles with the Richie' and 'Bart. Also the hull was available for the Mogador. The French loved speed on small ships and concentrated firepower on big ships (facing forward, unlike their army).

Good summary on the french ships, Dustin. I agree completely. In fact, Mogador has long been one of my favorite boats, as Mikey can attest. You made a good choice! I will definitely build a Mogador some day, but not until I've gotten a lot of experience under my belt.

And it will have to wait until after I build a Viribus Unitis, 'cause Kotori's got me hooked on the idea of building one of those next. I'm almost tempted to build it now, but with its slow speed I'd hate to battle it w/o all four main turrets armed. The Graf Spee is 7 knots faster, and I can always use the guns from Spee on the Viribus.

I was originally planning to do an HMS Courageous class, but the lack of quality plans combined with my unability to learn how to use DelftShip kind of killed that one. I however think the Charlemagne Class would make a much more interesting ship. Small, well armoured, not too many main guns to arm, and a very unique torpedo arrangement. That, and it would fit inside my car without requiring roof racks.

Tugboat, I tried sending you email & PM, but no response.

    Cheers,
    Chase

The Charlemange? I LOVE those ships.
I kind of want to do a Corbet next with 22 5.5" guns and 12 12" guns.

Yeah, I figured doing something thats easily portable, doesn't have that many guns (4x12" & 4x TT), and thick armour (+14"), would be best. Plus its very unique, French, and has a little bit of history in the class.
