looks like the dive planes are servo controlled, I'd bet on a dynamic diver

We are currently planning to control the planes.
At some time in the future we hope to add some sort of ballast system.
I have been having trouble loading up photos on this site as of late, but we are taking plenty and we will load them in time.

Which reminds me: I was wrong on the ballast system last weekend. You do need a snorkel or other air source to evacuate the ballast tank.

not necessarily....the piston system the large scale rc sub guys use, seems to only use the air in the sub...

You still need a source of air, otherwise it will create a vacuum and draw water in.

After you said that it was going to be dynamic diver, I was thinking, what do you base your 1'' below off of?
Reading through the rules, it didn't say anything about that. :)

I was down at Mikey's again this weekend and the build is progressing well. The SS is built and sealed, the hull is sealed and I built a fast gun cannon to act as one of the main guns. Amazingly, it actually works quite well. It is a smaller caliber than the allowed 3/16", but this boat will be armed :D.

Additionally, some work on a single-shot torpedo system progressed, and I think that it will work swimmingly. Only one tube will be armed due to space and weight restrictions. Also the motor mount was completed, and a wiring harness for the drive motors. The shafts are in and connected to the motors, and a drive train test was successful. The Pump outlet is in and pump position is almost settled. The rudder linkage, after MUCH cussing and discussing was finally installed and tested. There is almost no room at all in that stern.

Since Mikey is having a problem uploading pictures, he asked if I could take some, but in the progress of a busy build weekend, I totally forgot.

Work continues on some new Battlestations ships. The Bart is looking good, and the Texas is coming along.

Yep. It was displayed at our swap meet today next to a puny 144 scale Bismarck. It drew a lot of interest.
