Was there a rule change that 'neutered' the Vanguards and Bismarcks? I wasn't aware of it.

I got a hint from Kevin just in time.... I had to make a small adjustment in my skegs to allow a larger prop set. She can now run 2 1/4 " props.......

Here is the change.... I will have to flair the contour next to the skegs a little after framing, but she will do. Makes the water channel just a little wider too.... might have to work on that.

ok folks, last pics of the night.... shop is shutting down. I got lots done today though. I managed to get the keel slots cut and refitted the skeg keels to allow 2 1/4" in props. The rib frames are all glued down and ready to be cut.

More to come tomorrow as I am on a tight schedule. This ship will be shaking down at the Statesboro GA Labor Weekend event.

Here you can see the wider skeg placement.....

Hey, so how do you pull the hull off of the board once you're ready to glass? do those little nails come out easily? I'm planning another wood hull this winter and am thinking about using a build board.

I wanted to high-lite Spuds craftsmanship. These cuts are consistently inside of his lines and look how smooth the bottom of the notches are. This is top notch work.

I used to be Axis until I saw them massacre civilians in small villages, poison water holes. and eat dinner!

FYI.... 3 ModelShipsAhoy Iowas have been delivered to classified allied shipyards already with more on order.
So... Yamato drivers beware. The Allies will not take this lying down.. at the bottom.

I guess it depends on the question....

What state has Des Moines as its capital?

    See. Iowa IS the answer.

I wish I had a better picture of what was going on. Video is of a Yamato tearing up a stationary N.C.
It seems to me that if the AXIS wants to launch a fleet of Yammers, the counter would be a fleet of S.D. and N.C. Make Swiss cheese out of their bows. I would take a triple aft vs. dual bow side mount all day every day.

I don't know. I'm not into NATS plans anymore, did it for a long time, tired of it. I'm not even sure I'll go. Andy and Tyler may drag me along again.

The best counter is to have ships that work. Doesn't matter what ship it is. Just bring one that can drive around with a at least a 2gal/min pump. Your guns don't even need to work that well, just fire with a little speed most of the time. You'd be shocked at how poorly built ships can turn a NATS. The fleet with more ships does not win. It's the fleet with more ships that work that wins. Bring a ship to NATS that works well. Then when your ship works don't do anything stupid like drive into the middle of the other fleet by yourself early in the battle. If you do that don't wonder why no one helped you, don't try to save a drowning guy, he'll just drown you too.
You've got all winter to get your ships in top shape so it works well next July. Get to work on it. Or have regret all week at NATS. I will end up not working on mine at all and having some regret, then I'll tire of having regret and not go at all.
