For Fast Gun, a solenoid is potentially capable of firing more shots per second. However, to do that you need a circuitboard to control the solenoid, and a really fast hand on the trigger. I believe (fast gunners correct me if I'm wrong) that your basic Fast Gun cannon, triggered by solenoid, is capable of 10 or more rounds per second. However, most humans can only press the trigger 4 to 6 times per second, and that is the limiting factor. The big downside to solenoid-triggered cannons is the cost of the solenoid and controlling circuitboard. Servo-triggered cannons are limited by the speed of the servo. I don't know what kind of ROF you'll get with that, but it's certainly lower than what you can get with solenoid-actuated guns. Unlike solenoid-triggered cannons, however, it's a lot cheaper to put in a standard hobby servo and poppet. As Rob said, your best bet is to look at others in your club to gather more information.
thank you Kotori87 i have both so ill play with um and see what works for me . i will be back for help tho. thank you all
Sorry for taking so long in getting back. My MOG is a BIG guns ship. With no ballast, and no blast shields she floats at the water line with two armed barrels and 50 rounds of ammom. I have gutted the hull at the moment and installing new motors, smaller and lighter. My previous ballast was the 7.2 volt battery and the CO2 Tank.
hmm... Some questions: 1. Is there lead in the keel? 2. What are the decks made of? 3. How much does the superstructure weigh? 4. Was the ship top-heavy, or did it seem pretty stable? 5. Describe (or better yet, provide photos of) the weapon system 6. Tell me about the pump (size, weight)
