I may upgrade the rudder situation but for the most part nothing is going to really change.

Im so excited to see the Bisamrck and Tirpitz sailing together!!!

started a build thread, showing work in progress. I have gotten a lot of good ideas from other peoples build thread so hope fully this build will give ideas to others on building a warship.

Joe - any chance you have Friday off? Going to be going down to Hovey's again, I'm sure we can figure out how to fit your cannons in. No need to resort to the 2 pump silliness. The fun of building somehting like the T is all the guns!

Yeah, is looking good. Dont give up on the guns though. Can I ask what the particular problem with fitting the guns is? are they all coil magazines? Are the uptake tubes are getting in the way of things? Routing problems with the magazines?

She is looking pretty. A four gun Bis seems like an awful lot of target area with very few guns to fear, but its your ship. In case you didn't know it is an easy thing to change the magazines to straights. Looking forward to seeing her on the water.

A butane torch, some 1/4" copper, and some new solder, we can take coils off and make straights - making straight mags is simple enough. The exact details depend a little on how your guns were constructed in the first place (compression fittings vs all soldered connections vs a bit of both).

Basically though, some copper from the hardware store:

Cut a length off. With a spring bender or handheld pipe bender shape it as fits your needs. Ream out the ends because the pipe cutters almost always close them up a little. Make sure a bb can roll through when you're done.

You'll need to remove the magazine component from your current guns that you wish to change, but you need the part off the end where you fill it. If thats soldered on you'll need to grab the torch and desolder it to remove. If it is just connected via a compression fitting, you can just undo that. You'll also obviously need to seperate the original magazine from the T fitting. If its soldered in, again, de-solder, if compression fitting, just unscrew.

Before using the torch to do any solder or desolder work, take the guns apart by hand as much as you can. you want all the caps, o-rings, pistons, springs, etc out so that none get damage or melted, or soldered to things accidentally in the process.

To install the straight magazine at this point is just a matter of reversing the steps you took to remove the coil. It may be helpful to pause after attaching the magazine to the T so you can test fit it in your ship and make any changes to the magazine's shape that you need to before soldering the fill piece on.

The internal armor in the above pictures is very easy to shoot through. I hope nobody is still using it. If you do use it make sure you wrap your magazines and feed tubes with spiral wrap to keep them from getting dented.
