Very in depth coverage of the development of British battlecruisers, from origins in the protected cruisers of the 1890's thru to HMS Hood. One minor complaint is that the book should rightly be titled "British Battlecruisers", as hardly any mention is made of German or Japanese ships except in comparision to contemporary British designs, and those are lacking in detail. What you do get detail of is every aspect of the designs of Lord Fisher's battlecruisers, including the Glorious & Fearless prior to their conversions to CV's. Lots of gorgeously detailed drawings and photo's. And a 1/250 scale plan of HMS Queen Mary, including hull lines, sectionals, and detailed superstructure levels.
Perfect book for that Anglophile skipper out there. And not bad for anyone else w/ an interest in the ships of WW1

yes, I have the book as well. it's pretty darned good in its coverage on the British BCs. As mentioned, there's only brief mentions of other BCs.
