Hey great idea I would love to get those too Craig from you.. ya know me can't get enough of my sugar crisps.. ah I mean my boat videos.
That sounds great, Craig... I will try to do some searching this weekend. How many people want a copy? The price is a cold beverage if we run into each other at a battle someday.
I lean more towards hard cider, but I'm open-minded. For those who want one, let me know, because in a fit of wife-directed cleaning of the Nerd-room this morning, I found the DVD!! I'll pick up some blanks and get copying. So far, I have Justin, Carl, and Craig as wanting one.
In the immortal words of one of our most beloved icons... "Excellent, Smithers." Let mem know when you are ready for address and such. I ran off six copies of our club dvd's only four copies went out so I still have some ready.
That's going to be soo cool to see BIG GUN BATTLES. I've learned a lot so far. Love it. Just wish I could afford it. Darn
From what I've seen, and only been exposed to since geting on the Forums here.. you guys are nuts. The damage looks incredible!
No not nuts just freakin great! Even if Yamato could fire only 1 tripple sidemount it won't compare to what these guys can do. Have you seen the entire photo gallery? I love it!It's the large wall of watersplashes that make the pics soo cool. We need a little more of that in our version.
Amazingly enough, a large percentage of those giant wall-of-water splashes from gunfire are just that: splashes. The splash is displaced water, and all the energy spent sending water up is energy that's not spent penetrating heavy armor. Plus a fair number of shots like that go clean under the target. I've seen it in videos and still pictures. I've even shot MYSELF with Scharnhorst's forward turret, when the projectiles passed UNDERNEATH my brother's KGV and back up the other side.
Carl, I'm worried that you might need counselling about this tendency to shoot at yourself vice the enemy's ships. Oh, wait. You're Allied? Carry on, sailor, carry on! Banzai.
I've got a perfectly legitimate excuse. My brother was driving the other ship, and he snored particularly loud the night before. It's only natural I'd try to shoot him. I just forgot that I was standing right next to him... My aim has gotten much better since then. Captain: "gunner, see the captain of that enemy ship over there?" Gunner: "Yes sir." Captain: "Shoot him in the nuts with a 1/4 inch shell!" Gunner: "which nut, sir?"
Don't laugh. We had a cameraman get shot two years ago on the mommy-daddy button. Laughter ensued. I'm not one to brag... in fact it was Curt's boss and Curt was the one who shot. Hmmmmmm, a little workplace anger issue?
Yes, that counts. Anything that you can brag about belongs in this thread! Speaking of which, I need to note an update for a previous post. A while ago, I said that I had NEARLY scored the first-ever recorded instance of an unarmed transport sinking another ship. Well, now it's official. During the 1st sortie on Sunday at the Maker Faire, I successfully rammed and sunk the Dutch Battlecruiser Von Orange with my completely unarmed tramp steamer, S.S. Silverfish. I pushed the mighty vessel sideways, forcing water into previous battle damage and overwhelming its pumps. With the buoyancy equation thus modified, its end was inevitable and the Von Orange went to Davey Jones' Locker in record time. Note: The WWCC does permit 25-knot transports to ram. It's their only defense in a club where the warship skippers are more interested in sinking the enemy transports than in escorting the friendly ones.
