I know that we invited them to join us (Treaty) at Ravenna this year and battle between our sorties. Nobody has really said anything though.

The BBS has a really busy year scheduled with like 8 or so events.
I will see if I can post their schedule, and also try to have a BBS
section added to the local clubs section.

I'm not positive, but I think all are scheduled for the coon hunter's pond just outside of Newark - some might change depending on if someone else wants to host. I know LEAG has hosted some near Erie PA in the past, and we've also had some in Ravenna and closer to Dayton.

BBS plays by MWCI format right?

BBS rules are similar to MWC but not exactly. An Example, Yamato is only 26 secs in the BBS.

    Yeah,

I'm definitely not the one to talk to about rules (Froggy or Buddy would be) but I believe any MWCI ship could come and easily be set up for BBS, and in the past we were lenient on visitors. But like I said, I'm not positive about all of this.

So would I need to join some organization like NAMBA or something for insurance since you use different rules or would I still be covered by the MWCI policy? Does that cover multiple rule sets? Just curious cause I could probably make that drive for a weekend of battling.

More than likely that depends on the MWCI policy, BBS uses NAMBA. We are told that the IRCWCC members cannot battle with us (despite having NAMBA as well) because their specific NAMBA policy only allows them to battle IRCWCC sanctioned events - or maybe just with their rules? So I don't know how MWCI is...

Mikey or Buddy, correct me if I'm wrong?

I dunno, the NAMBA rules cover combat ships, and don't mention specific clubs.

I think the MWCI uses their own insurance, and I'd assume that it's only valid for MWCI events, so I rather doubt that MWCI insurance would cover you at a BBS meet.

In Washington Treaty, we use NAMBA as well, I don't believe that the rules stipulate anything about clubs. If I understand correctly, as long as everyone at the battle has NAMBA insurance, and is battling to a set of rules approved by NAMBA, you should be good to go.

Something to remember, if you are just going out there to hit a battle, you can always get the one event NAMBA membership for like 10 bucks which will cover you for one full event. Any more events and you would be required to get NAMBA insurance.

I've got a NAMBA membership and the form didnt have anything about different policy's so im guessing im ok? I was thinking it might be under MWCI since I thought BBS was an MWCI club but I guess not since they dont play by those rules. Is the BBS rule set posted online anywhere?

I've uploaded the most current online rule set and ship list to my folder, feel free to take it from there. However, I'm pretty sure a few changes have been made, but nothing big. Hopefully Buddy or Mikey will get on soon.... but until then I'll try my best to answer any of your questions.

Mike - that's what we thought as well about NAMBA but according to all the big IRCWCC guys we invited for some reason they have a special NAMBA membership - no different from ours, except for that clause. We were going to invite some out to battle with us but we'd have to change the rules around just so they can.

Anyone from IRCWCC here that can let us know for sure?

The easiest way to clear things up would probably be to send Cathie at NAMBA an email and see what exactly their insurance covers. Since they are the ones who would be paying up should the insurance need to be invoked, they are ultimately the ones who you would want to ask.

I suspect she'll tell you that they cover any of the recognized groups and nobody has any special coverage.
