The driving force consists of two 1680Kv outrunners hooked up direct to the props. They should easily get me up to speed. The motor mount is made from 1/32 aluminum folded in half for extra strength. Since the shaft couplers are solid there is no need for the motor to move up or down so they're solidly secured.

These motors come with detachable mounting brackets. Just release two set screws and the motor will slide out for maintenance.

For the decks I'm looking into using aluminum flashing. It's thin, light, and won't rot. All good things for a deck. Probably going to fasten it with magnets.

This is my homemade pump that might find its way into this model, or I may make another. I'm still not decided.

    Enjoy!

I like potatoes too. Whats your favorite way to have them? I like to dice them and pan fry them with some garlic and butter until crispy.

That ship lookin thing sitting there all precariously looks mighty nice too. Good lines.

Homemade French fries is THE best! Fire up the old cast-iron kettle with some lard in the bottom and fry taters till your hearts content. Nothing in this world comes close!

image.jpg image.jpg Working on the pump. Design is my own. I've been slowing tweaking things to get it to fit better. This one is version three (I think, there's been so many :)) I still need to drill the hole for the outlet, but I was so pleased with it I thought I would post a picture. :)

why not print the base with the outlet rather than drill?

I would have, but I haven't figured out how to do that in Sketchup yet. I should probably get a different modeling program, but I at least know the basics of Sketchup.

Did a test of the pump this morning. This thing is AWESOME! For sush a small pump, it moves a massive stream of water. I didn't instal the restrictor for this test, so it was pumping out of a 3/16 outlet, but I still got a 15-20ft stream of water. I can't amagine how high it will go when I have a 3/32 outlet on it.

Installed the 3/32 outlet, and the results are just as great. I'm so happy. :)

Here's the finished pump. Pencil is for size reference.

Did a flow test today. At 7.6v I got 1 gallon in 1 min 13 seconds, or .82 gpm. Does that sound good for a 1/2 unit pump 3/4" two bladed impeller?

My Mogador pump is pushing 1GPM at 12v so your right in the groove.

I'll have to see what she does on 12v. Should be easy to get more than a gallon a minute. What size impeller are you running, Steve? Any idea of the RPM's?

I think the impeller is 3/4". Rpm's, who knows? It's a modified washer pump. FYI, monster flow rates aren't really needed with a DD. Even your measly .82 gpm will flush out a Fletcher in seconds. Make sure your pump and ESC work well at low rpm. I found on the Moggy that when I bump the pump trim up I was getting a nice little 6" stream which was keeping her afloat very nicely with several belows for an hours campaign battle without hardly any battery impact.

Yeah, I don't really need/want a super pump, just wanted to know the max pumping capacity. Turns out that this pump/motor combo won't work at 12v. At full throttle the motor jerks like it doesn't have the torque to run it. Runs fine at 7.4v though.
