Thought it would be a good idea to give our build-session schedule it's own thread.
We are going to ramp up the build-sessions in order to try to get some of the new construction projects kicked-off so that we might have them on the water in time for the Task-force event in late September.
So far we have the following build-sessions scheduled.
July 20 at Gerry's in Miamisburg.
July 28 at Mikey's in Pleasant Hill.
August 3 at Gerry's in Miamisburg.
August 4 at Mikey's in Pleasant Hill.
Roland is looking into hosting some in Ravenna, and we are also trying to schedule some in the Cinci area.

I was just out in the shop doing a little straightening up after the build-session, and the place looks like a war-zone.
As it turns out, Phill had brought over his Capitani kit from Mark, and started to work on it.
I couldn't think of anything in particular that I needed to work on.
All of our opperational boats are pretty much battle-ready.
So I dug into my stash of kits from Mark, and came up with a Galo, Baltimore, and two Bogues,
So Phil, Bat, and I were all poping out kit parts, and assembling components. It was like a mass-production assembly line.
Dustin was working on his new Arkansas monitor for Battlestations.
Now that the dust has settled around here, we have several half-assembled ship kits on the ways.
Mark was not able to attend, but it was awesome seeing folks capitalize on all of the great work that he has put into his wonderful ship-kits.

Gerry is hosting a build-session/swapmeet in Miamisburg tomorrow. I plan to be there early, but can only stay part of the day.
On Sunday, I am hosting a build-session/swapmeet at my boatshop in Pleasant Hill.

We are also planning to schedule lots of build-session during August and September. Some of these may be two-day sessions in order to
increase than chances that some of the not-so-local folks can make it up and participate as well.

Dustin was able to drop in for some building today.
He had his little monitor, and was working on it some.
He also helped me work on the Surcouf.
The shafts are in place, and the rudder, and dive planes are assembled.
We were brain-storming on the CO2 and stuff.
We will get back to work on it tomorrow, and hopefully we can post some new photos.

    All
MIke M. will be in town this coming weekend for a sailing event in Dayton.
We will be building Saturday afternoon, and into the evening at my boatshop.
We are planning to get his Battlestations Bretagne started.
So if you get a chance to stop by and help out, or just say hello, please do.
Perhaps we can try to get all of the Battlestations boats together for a group photo.
I have one scroll saw, and two sanders. My cordless drill has a questionable battery,
so if someone could bring along a good drill that would be great.
More scroll saws, or possibl a smallish bandsaw would perhaps be a good idea.
And bring along some superglue, and accellorator if you have some.
I think the sailing event is over by 3pm or so on Saturday.
So we should be back in the shop around 4pm.
This would be a great chance to get all of the Battlestations boats, and folks together.

We did some building in Miamisburg yesterday.
Today we are building here in Pleasant Hill.
Trying to get a couple new boats finished in time for next weekend's battle.

I spoke with Phil last evening, and he thinks he might be able to get away for some building today.
It sounds like he can come up around 9(ish), and stay into the early afternoon.
So I will have the boat-shop open today for building.
Drop in if you can. Sorry for the late notice. I went to bed early yesterday.
I must have my beauty sleep you know.

It looks like a couple/few of the locals will be coming over to my boatshop on Sunday for some building.
Phil was not able to get away after all last weekend. But he is going to try again on Sunday.
We will try to get some up-dated build photos of some of the current projects.

    2-day build-session at our boat-shop next weekend. April 26-27.
I plan to host two sessions during May in order to help everyone get ready for the Denmark Straits event on Memorial Day weekend.

Bat, and Phil were over yesterday building boats.
Bat was mainly working on Steven's USS Texas, and also made some progress on his USS Alaska.
Phil pretty much has his HMS Iron Duke ready for sea trials.
I have the DKM Prinz Eugen almost ready for sea trials.
We watched RED, The Thing (newer version), Lost in Space, The Beast, and They were Expendable.
Most of the locals are busy this weekend. But Phil is on his way over now, and Matt may be able to stop in today.
We have one month until the Denmark Straits event in Xenia, and it sounds like most of the folks are in pretty good shape.

Well. We have one month to go for the Denmark Straits event in Xenia.
I have spoken with some of the other locals, and we are trying to make sure that we give everyone that might need help getting their boats ready as many opportunities to drop in at a build-session as possible.
The Denmark Straits event is in Xenia on May 24-26. That is a Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Memorial Day weekend.

Matt has offered to host a one-day build-session next weekend on Saturday May 3 at Gerry's shop in Miamisburg. I plan to be there to help out.
The following weekend is Mother's Day weekend. And I have not heard from anyone brave enough to even mention boat building on that weekend. Haha.
I am hosting a two-day build-session the following weekend May 17-18 in Pleasant Hill. This will be our last chance to build before Memorial Day weekend.

Phil and Fred (and his daughter) were able to attend the build-session at my shop yesterday. It was great fun building boats (as always),
but it was a bonus to get a chance to chat up this wonderful hobby to new folks.
We watched the battle of the bulge, the bridge at Remagen, and the devil's brigade.
We are building again today. The shop is open. Phil is planning to be here again.

Steve V. is here working on his John Oxley convoy ship.
Doing some minor repairs to the systems.
Vance is working on his Victory ship. Un-named at this time.
Installing internal armor, and hooking up the rudder, and motor.
Phil is working on his convoy ship Altmark.
It is sporting new paint and superstructure.
I am still working on the Bismarck.
New batteries, and re-fitted internals out of one of the other boats.

Vance and Marina joined me for a patching party on all of our boats for the event next weekend.
We are hoping to have a chance to touch up the paint on all of the boats as well at some point during the up-coming week, so that they all look nice on the water.
We all got a lot done this weekend. We watched a lot of good movies. And made big plans for next weekend's event, as well as the rest of the battling season.
We are all looking forward to the Denmark Straits event.
    Five days, and a wake-up.

We have two weekends leading up to the 4th of July battle out in Xenia.
Some folks have been discussing a big re-sheeting session before that battle. So more than likely we will have at least one more build-session before
the three-day battle. Probably somewhere in the Dayton area.
That would also give us a chance to hook up with some of the new folks that we met this past weekend at the Versailles battle, and show them some
of the boats that are sitting around collecting dust, waiting for a new skipper, and all of our on-going construction projects.
