You know capture the flag.well blue team captures the red.red is the oppisite cptures blue. Both get it into a zone.wonder if you could get a blue flag then a red both floats the equep a hook on the both sides of the ships and try to hook the flags geting back to ttheir home port. good idea! hooks are deatachable
Extra hardware a la detachable grappling hooks is not a good idea. I wonder if this could be done using transports to steal and carry each team's flag, ie escort your team's transport to the other base to steal their flag, then escort it back to capture the flag. A while ago, we played a game of "steal the bacon" using a lifeguard rescue tube. We threw the tube in the middle of the pond, and each team had to push it back to their port. It was an interesting exercise in tugboat theory, and also one of the most violent, destructive, and fun battles I have ever played in. I'd love to do it again at some point.
Indeed, Carl, I see that happening in Statesboro next season It sounds like a LOT of fun and I know the guys would go for it as a change in the routine
We also got two large styrofoam containers that are being grafted together and covered in colored burlap as islands
Not to derail.... but I like this.... Reminds me of when "I think it was Steve" came up with the "Circle of Death" for the IRCWCC NATS... OMG that was brutal!
Ohhh, yeah. and cruisers either pushing (and feeling the pain) or backing in to deliver stern gun goodies to the pushers
Last time we played, it was with Big Gun boats that can easily survive a little bumping and scraping. There was a lot of collisions, both intentional and unintentional. We also deliberately allowed ramming to avoid pond-side arguments. Can't complain about "interference" when both sides are doing it. It was actually kinda neat to have the little boats helping push the big boats into the perfect spot to push the lifeguard buoy, or try to dislodge them from pushing. I am not sure how the Fast Gun boats would stand up to that kind of abuse. Then again, Fast Gun ships are generally more maneuverable and are more used to tight-group battles. Either way, I would suggest one modification to the basic rules. If the bacon gets grounded, call a 30-second cease fire for ships to reposition, then throw the bacon back out about 5-10 feet. That way you don't end with a draw.
octagon of death , we don't have circular pvc. this year it will be 10' per section, so very tight for a group of ships
Thank you for the link. Not sure why I couldn't pull that up in my search. Too much bias searching for youtube. The ring does not look interesting to me.
It's fun if you're into it. I like running around more, meself, but I'll watch people ram each other for the 10 minutes that it lasts
What about a variant of this idea? Instead of towing a flag... why not set it up on some sort of container... say an old Milk Carton.. Mount flags on the two cartons and the ships on either team must sink the flag carton or defend it... or both. First team to sink the opponent's milk carton flag... wins?
