Hello my name is Mike and I’m a rookie to the hobby and I’m looking to buy my first warship to help me learn more about building and to get started with

Fast gun? I have an italian Andrea Doria that is a hull with deck, superstructure, rudders, props and shafts, etc. Would need to add running gear and electronics, guns, etc. Theres a good group of guys about an hour and a half north of you who meet weekly in Cape St Clair MD. I sometimes make the drive down to hang out with them, that would at least save you shipping a hull from someplace.

Fast gun is your best bet for battling. We typically have battles in Hagerstown, MD twice a year. This spring the pond is partially drained from a dam repair, and we are looking for other potential sites, hopefully get something in local this season. There are about 10 active battlers in the immediate DMV area, our events typically have about 15 boats on the water. I'm in Alexandria and I have about 6 boats battle ready, several in various stages of construction, and a lot of hulls

It might help if you introduce yourself a little more, such as hobby/building experience, ship preference, budget, etc

She's a little dusty. The balsa sheeting needs to be completely removed and replaced as it is 6~ years old. I started on the port side and never finished removing it. It comes with a container of spare superstructure bits, the original builder was a toymaker who loved making stuff look fancy so he had a small stockpile of replacement parts as he knew they'd get blown off.
