I'm starting to really like the dazzle camouflage style of WW2. I was wondering, which ships can be easily built that would of featured dazzle camo during the war? I know that merchant ships frequently displayed it, but what about cruisers or other warships?

I think it was more commonly done in WW1. US mainly used it on Destroyers but there are some pictures of Predreadnoughts and Cruisers done in dazzle. The French used some impressive dazzle schemes too. Royal Navy I am not sure. I have seen some older ships converted to minelayers in dazzle. Not as familiar with WW2.

The US used dazzle on just about everything in WW2. Check out this website for more info

The French Gloire Light Cruiser had it in WWII. I've got a large picture of it in one of the books. Quite impressive up close!

Have a look at these: http://www.risd.edu/dazzle/
Not warships, but a remarkable selection of dazzle painting.

Those are quite amazing! I wonder what ships those could be applied too. Perhaps a T2 or a Liberty Ship?

Yeah, I was curious to see how some of the various nations did their paint schemes in WWII and WWI. I am mostly interested in the French and the Russians, but that is just me...
