    Well I was talking about 1900 and above, but even then the actual naval battle was inconclusive, but the Chesapeake bay was under French control. Which led to them assisting the Americans in Cornwallis defeat. Long live the French!!!

    God I hated saying that.

    It's ok, we made it all good in the quasi war of 1797, when the 38 gun frigate USS Constellation under Truxtun spanked the 38 gun L'Insurgent and then the 50 gun La Vengeance in a night action to the point where she struck her colors no less then three times before escaping in the darkness.

    Those Frenchies just can't get their flags down fast enough...kinda like their pants!

    What about the contributions to the National football League. If it weren't for the French we wouldn't have the symbol for touchdown
