With heavy heart, I have decided to sell the Tirpitz.

    Build Thread:

    Superstructure Plans

I'll try to be as transparent as possible with what you are getting and her current state as I go through the photos:

Notes on outside of the ship:

    Positive
    - The outside of the ship is really stunning in person.
    - The Teak decking is complete and is really unique and special.
    - The close-celled superstructure foam is quite tough and resilient. Most BB shots will just bounce off. The ship should remain in great condition for years without maintenance.

    Negative
    - Balsa needs replacement
    - I only have 4 / 6 of the 6" (small) gun decorations.
    - The middle of the ships superstructure rests on the battery not on structural supports. This causes a slump if the battery is not there.
    - The teak decking is pressure fit with the hull. Most of it is pretty snug so it won't fall off.
    - Some superstructure decorations needs to be glued in place and painted.

Notes on the internals & water channel:

    Positive:
    - The dual 9oz setup allows the ship to carry its weight low and on the outside, this greatly increased stability.
    - The 2x 9oz tanks are molded into the rubber and are affixed with powerful magnets to keep them in place.
    - The multi-tiered water channel forces water to always be available to the pump, even when sloshing around.
    - The bottom of the boat is covered in a flexible and waterproof rubber. This helps with the water channeling, and provides some weight low to make the ship more stable. It also makes the bottom of the boat really easy to clean.
    - The battery is perched on a wooden structure that keeps it from interfering with the water channel.
    - The battery is held down with 4x elastic tie downs, this is enough to keep the battery in place even when the ship is inverted.
    - The battery is as low and centered as realistically possible.

    Negative:
    - The transmission gears need replaced. Unfortunately the brushless motor is 5mm, which makes it difficult to find good gears.

Notes on the prop / rudders:

    Positive:
    - The rudders are as close to the prop as possible.
    - The rudders can fully shutter closed, if desired.
    - The prop is StrikeModels and is as large as realistically possible.
    - The prop is as close to the hull as possible.
    - The servo is traxxas water proof, and is actually waterproof (I understand some are not)

    Negative:
    - The rudders are a bit chipped up.
    - No drag disks have been installed yet.

    Notes on cannons:

    Positive:
    - There are 8x working barrels, so the Tirpitz is capable of being reconfigured in any firing combination.
    - They look really cool and have been reliable, consistent, and accurate.
    - The cannons can be fully disassembled for maintenance.
    - They are mechanically identical to standard fast gun cannons, except they are enclosed.
    - They have no external parts to get damaged.
    - They come with (some) extra parts.
    - They are ideal if you want a rotate setup.
    - They are IRCWCC compliant.
    - They are pressure fit in place with the decking; so they can be rotated/re-aimed/re-configured at the battle site.
    - The middle cannons are lifted with rubber tubing to allow the down angle to be adjusted.

    Negative:
    - They do not (yet) have a barrel rubber sleeve (for protection)
    - The adjustable down angle is not set. Fishing line (or etc) would be needed to lock down the angle.

    Notes on Electrics:
    Positive:
    - Fully Waterproof
    - Fully digital, no moving parts.
    - ESCs are more than rated for the motors
    - ESC for the pump makes it easy to cycle the pump on the water
    - Brushless ESC has full reverse.
    - Pump ESC is configured without reverse.
    - Remote control's throttle (left) stick has been swapped for right stick, so it will auto-return itself to zero.
    - The fire control push buttons have a nice feeling throw to them.

    Negatives:
    - Battery in the remote control will need replacing soon.
    - The blue plastic plate (fire control) is solid, but not as immovable as I wanted.
    - I only have 2 of 4 RCE200X digital switches needed for IRCWCC battles.

    Notes on Pneumatics:
    Positive:
    - Fully Waterproof
    - Fully digital, no moving parts.
    - Two regulators for the dual 9oz setup
    - The dual 9oz tanks automatically balance themselves, one will not run out before the other.
    - The clipard manual switch has integrated blow off to drop the cannon pressure to zero immediately.
    - The 1/8" pressure tubes are oversize to allow more gas flow.
    - 4x AOMAG 1/8" 2 Way Normally Closed Pneumatic Aluminum Electric Solenoid Air Valve 12V DC

    Negatives:
    - The system has some leaks that need addressed.
    - The pneumatic system as configured was causing two BBs to be shot. You will likely need to get on solenoid per cannon barrel. (2 more solenoids)

    Extra Superstructure Parts:

This is an extra complete superstructure setup. It does only include one extra cannon cover.

    Price: $650 (OBO) + shipping

    - Superstructure made from closed cell BB-resistant foam
    - Extra superstructure

For now; I think I'm out. I might surprise myself and buy a smaller ship in a few years. It's a fun hobby; I definitely enjoyed my time and the people I met.

That’s a heckuva deal! Wish I had more disposable income and time... the Admiral would definitely not approve funding for this acquisition;)
